Those three words changed everything. I was a young girl, suddenly in a wheelchair, facing pain I didn’t have language for yet and a truth I wasn’t ready to hear: I couldn’t walk.
But somewhere in that fear, something else took root. In my mind’s eye, I saw her — a confident woman in a pleather dress and red heels, standing tall in a life I hadn’t built yet. I didn’t know it then, but that image was the beginning of everything Stylized Threads has become.
I understand what low self-confidence does to your entire image — not as a concept, but because I lived it. I learned, far earlier than most people have to, that how we show up on the outside and who we are on the inside are not separate things. They’re in constant conversation with each other. And when I couldn’t yet stand on my own two feet, the vision of who I wanted to become is what carried me.
From FIT to a Decade in Corporate Fashion
That vision is what led me to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where I didn’t just study fashion — I learned to build it, thread by thread. I spent the next decade-plus in the corporate fashion world, and it was there that I truly honed my craft: garment construction, pattern making, production, and fit.
I want to be honest about what that decade gave me, because it’s not something you can shortcut. I know how a garment is actually built — not just how it looks on a hanger, but how a seam is engineered, how a pattern is drafted to move with a real body, how fit is the difference between clothing that fights you and clothing that simply disappears into how you move through your day. I sat inside production meetings. I watched collections go from a sketch to a sample to a rack. That knowledge lives in my hands now, and it’s what separates styling that just looks good from styling that actually fits — your body, your life, your becoming.
Why I Became a Personal Clothing Stylist in Orange County
Here’s the part no one tells you about corporate fashion: you rarely meet the person who wears what you helped create. I built collections, mastered the technical side of the craft, hit every milestone I was supposed to hit — and still, something in me wasn’t aligned. I could engineer the perfect fit from behind a desk, but I never got to witness what happened when a woman put it on and felt, for the first time in a while, like herself again.
That missing piece became impossible to ignore. So I made a choice most people around me thought was reckless: I left the security of a corporate career to build something smaller, closer, and infinitely more meaningful. I wanted to be in the room. I wanted to kneel down and pin a hem myself, to watch a woman’s shoulders drop and her posture change the moment something finally fits right — not just on her body, but on her life. That decision became Stylized Threads, a luxury personal styling destination built for women in career and life transitions.
This Is a Business Led by Heart
I don’t say that lightly, and I don’t say it as a tagline. Every skill I bring to a styling session — the trained eye for silhouette, the technical understanding of how a garment should fit a real, moving body, the years of production knowledge most stylists simply don’t have — exists in service of something much softer than technique. It exists so that when I’m sitting across from a woman who feels disconnected from her own reflection, I can actually do something about it. Not guess. Not approximate. Know.
Because underneath every closet edit and every wardrobe strategy session, what I’m really doing is holding space for a woman to become who she already is on the inside. I’ve been her — in a wheelchair, uncertain if I’d ever stand in that pleather dress and those red heels I could only picture in my mind. I know what it feels like when the outside doesn’t match the person you’re fighting to become. And I know, with everything in me, what it feels like when it finally does.
Who I Work With
As a personal clothing stylist for women in career and life transitions in Orange County, California, I work with women in the middle of becoming someone new. Sometimes that looks like stepping into a new role — a promotion, a title that finally matches the work you’ve been doing for years. Sometimes it’s quieter and harder: rebuilding after a life shift, returning to work after time away, or moving through a divorce and rediscovering who you are on your own, outside of a role you used to define yourself by.
I’ve worked with women recovering from an illness or major health change, relearning a body that doesn’t move or look the way it used to — and needing a wardrobe that meets them there instead of working against them. I’ve worked with women becoming mothers, and women becoming empty nesters, both facing the same quiet question: who am I now that this chapter has changed? And I’ve worked with women starting the business they’ve always wanted to build, stepping into an identity they’re still growing into.
Whatever the transition, the thread connecting all of it is the same. You’ve built a life that looks successful. But if getting dressed doesn’t feel aligned with everything else you’ve created, I see you, and I know exactly where to start — technically and personally.
Our Community Giveback
Through Stylized Threads’ giveback, I lead a class called Styled for Success, in partnership with Laura’s House, a local Orange County nonprofit supporting survivors of domestic violence. The women in this program are in a period of transition of their own — regaining independence, re-entering the workforce, and stepping into a new chapter with strength and resilience.
This is a hands-on class designed to simplify style and build confidence in a real, approachable way. Together, we walk through how to put together outfits that feel polished and intentional, what to wear for interviews and professional settings, how to work with the clothes they already have, and simple strategies to feel confident getting dressed each day. I bring every bit of the same craft and care into that room that I bring into a luxury styling session, because the woman in front of me deserves nothing less. For many of them, this becomes more than a styling class — it’s a step toward rebuilding confidence and reclaiming identity.
